mwbqAdaptec è una società con sede a mwbgMilpitas, mwbwCalifornia (mwcaUSA) specializzata nella produzione di mwcqhost per collegare al mwcgcomputer mwcwmemorie di massa tramite mwdaUSB, mwdqFireWire, mwdgSCSI, mwdwiSCSI, mweaFibre Channel, mweqSerial ATA, ma anche mwegaudio/video. Adaptec produce anche alcuni componenti hardware quali gli mwewhub USB e dispositivi mwfaNAS quali la linea Snap Server.

Adaptec sviluppava anche il software di mwfwmasterizzazione per CD/DVD Easy CD Creator, che adesso è supportato da mwgaRoxio, una società formata dall'uscita da Adaptec della divisione che seguiva i prodotti software.

Il 18 giugno mwgg2010 PMC-Sierra ha acquistato per 34 milioni di dollari il marchio e tutto l'assetto di Adapteccite-ref-1[1].
